Hello:
I didn't realize that my Macbook Pro did not have an audio input until after I purchased it. Do you know of any simple USB line or mic input devices that are self powered?

Every MBP has an audio input. What MBP do you have?

The current 13" MBPs have a combined input/output port - same as the mic/headphone port on the iPhone.

It is selectable in System Preferences / Sound.

Hello:

I have the 15" Macbook Pro, but I was amazed at you reply. I will certainly try that suggestion. If that is correct, then the local Mac dealer that sold me my computer did not inform me correctly.

Thanks a lot.

Yeppers, the 15" definitely has a separate audio in port.
