iMove - USB External Hard Drive - Firewire Camcorder Import

Hi guys. well i have an external hard drive thats plugs into my mac using usb, and my camcorder is a canon xha1 which uses firewire 800, now my question is if i import into imovie while my hard drive is pluged into usb and my camcorder is plugged into firewire, will this go really slow or ruin my computers speed or anything
