formatting PC External harddrive

Just quick question. Bought a pc hardrive (external) for my backup pics and movies. It came with a PC software on it (backup application). I tried to erase it in Disk Utility with an option Mac OS Extended (Journaled), but it gave a disk error and the harddrive icon disappears from the desktop. It only works when I format it with the DOS option. I think it still should be ok, but I just wanna make sure. I tried to copy some of the files and it seems to work thanx |
