Hi!

I hava a My Book for Mac from WD, I have been using it to make backups with Time machine. But now I wanted to divide the disc into two parts, so I can have a partition only for backups and other to keep other stuff that I don't want to store in my mac. I've been searching and I just can't find out how to partition my disc into two. Can someone guide me on this?

Thanx a lot

You want to use Disk Utility.
In your Applications folder, go to the bottom and look in the Utilities folder. That's where you'll find Disk Utility.
Make sure your external is plugged in. Click on the "Partition" tab in the Disk Utility window. Drag the divider bar to adjust the partition sizes of the external or manually enter the sizes in the "size" box.

I already have stuff saved on the disc. Should I erase it before or will it automatically assume one part as time machine backup and keep the backups there?
