dvi cable for adding display screen macbook>imac

i have a macbook aluminum 13" i think it has mini dvi but im not sure but i also have an Imac 20" what cable do i need to conect the macbook and use both screens at the same time i work with vector works, sketchup and photoshop it be nice to use the plaquettes and colours or layers in the macbook screen and have the image in the imac.

what cable do i need i suppose its mini dvi to ?

i am switching to a macbook pro aluminum 15" soon will the same cable work ?

ok that software is pretty nice i will get it soon. i was also told i could connect it to the tv. my tv has hdmi svideo and a usb port besides all the other regular conectors witch cable should i get i suppose is mini dvi to svideo am i correct?
