Getting Macbook external screen settings.

Hi, I have my MacBook linked up to a telly via MiniDisplay out to HDMI convertor. I am wondering if there is any downloadable software which I can alter the settings for the second screen. The settings which you can alter with the Mac software is just not what I want, for example I use the second screen as extra space instead of a replica of whats playing on my Mac screen and I want the cursor to go right off the screen to the other screen instead of the left, is there any software out there which will help me alter settings like this?
Thanks for any help,

Welcome to the Forum Joe. Have you been into Sys Prefs > Display and unchecked Mirroring. Then you can drag menubar to which display u prefer and swap displays left to right or right to left as needed.
