bluetooth headset for use with ichat audio chat

i have a bluetooth head set and its connected to my mbp but i want to use it with ichat but it doesn't recognize it in the microphone menu in system prefs. how could i do this because i want some mobility during audio chat without feedback and without using headphones. any help would be appreciated

Mac specs: late 2009 MBP 15 inch 2.53ghz 4gb Ram 320 gb HDD, 32 gb iphone 3gs white, 16 gb iphone 2g
