iSight, iChat AV 'expand horizons for deaf' October 6, 2003 - 12:46 EDT The San Francisco Chronicle has an excellent article on how Apple's iSight video camera and iChat AV software are helping to change the lives of people in the deaf community. "When my girlfriend and I were able to talk to each other using iChat with iSight, I can't describe the feeling I had," Melvin Patterson, a Chicago film school student said. "I'm sure it is the same feeling people had long ago when the telephone was invented, being able to hear someone's voice with all their inflections from a distance... I have been waiting for so long for technology that improves accessibility for the deaf and hard of hearing." My Comments: I didn't think about this aspect of things.. that's very kewl! ---> Join the Mac-Forums Folding team: use 37954 as your team number.View Mac-Forums Folding team statistics (More Info) Don't forget to use the User Reputation System |
