Hi,

Something weird started happening today ...

I leave my Mighty Mouse on and connected via bluetooth to my mid '09 MBP but when I reopen after sleeping the mouse stops working. The bluetooth symbol still says connected and I have to disconnect and then reconnect the mouse to get it to work.

Any ideas ? It only started happening today !

Thanks J

Did you try rebooting the Mac? I had that same thing happen with a Logitech Bluetooth mouse and that solved it. Also what worked was turning off Bluetooth then turning it back on.

So far have not had that issue with my Magic Mouse, but 2 other bluetooth mice in the past. Very rare though.

I'd try going to Bluetooth in System Preferences and remove the mouse and then reinstall it.

You should be able to turn your Bluetooth off and on. What version of OSX are you running? Will do some checking around and get back if I find the answer.

Edit: Two people so far have had your exact issue and this fixed it for them. It's not the Magic Mouse. It's the computer. Do let us know if this solves it for you.

Well, I will say this; I always found the Mighty Mouse bluetooth connection to be darn flakey. I'd periodically loose all or part of the connection and have to fiddle with it. Since I've switched to the new Magic Mouse, that hasn't happened even once. The Magic Mouse bluetooth is much better. And, the mouse is a lot more fun to use too. So, if you're a mind to, why not get a Magic Mouse and see if that solves the problem.
