I currently have a Mac Pro and a western digital external hard drive. I constantly have a problem keeping this drive docked. Randomly it will just disappear from my screen and I can't access it until I unplug it and plug it back in. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can correct this problem, or do you have any recommendations for drives that do not have this problem. Thanks in advance.

If that external drive is a 3.5" SATA drive...you could remove it from the external case, and install it internally into your Mac Pro.
