    HP StorageWorks DAT 72 driver
Hi. I know I should have checked first but I just bought a secondhand HP StorageWorks Dat 72 tape drive for my archiving assuming that HP would have a driver for Mac OS X.

Very foolish because they don't. Can you tell me is there anywhere else I might get a driver for H.P tape drive
    Product # Q1522B
    Serial # HU1D627LDM

    Thanks

Yes. Unfortunately HP don't do a driver. I was wondering if some how there was a 3rd party driver?

You probably won't find an OS X driver for any HP DAT Tape drives. However, what you can do is run Windows on your machine (dual boot using Boot Camp) and use their Windows driver instead. I'm not even sure that drive will work properly from within a Virtual Machine run of Windows. (Parallels or Fusion)

It should work fine if you run Windows natively using a Boot Camp dual setup.

    Regards.

From my quick search I take it this is a SCSI drive. If you have a SCSI card and can run OS 9x. You can use Silverlinings Pro 6.1. Check the Lacie site from something newer. I run a SCSI HP Surestore Optical drive with Silverlinings.
