Ok here is the situation. I have a Canon PIXXMA mx330 printer hooked up to my desktop through usb. That machine is running windows xp media center. I can print perfectly from that machine. I have shared the printer on the network. I am trying print to this printer from my new macbook pro 13 inch. So i went into the printer & fax settings on the mac, clicked add new printer, clicked windows, workgroup, family, and then my printer name (CanonMX3). I then found the driver in the list (canon 330 series) and finally clicked add. So it appears to be connected. Whenever i try to print something to this printer from the mac nothing happens. what am i doing wrong?
PLEASE HELP!!!!! |

OR You say "new macbook pro". What OS is it operating? Have you checked with Canon's website for the latest MX330 driver for the MacOS you're operating? When we know the answers to those questions, we might be able to pinpoint a solution. |

thanks for the reply.
The new macbook pro is running Mac OS X snow leopard (10.6.1) Yes i have updated the drivers on my mac and pc. Another thing that i have noticed is that when i print something from the mac to the pc a "remote downlevel document" pops up in the printer queue on the pc. it says that it is spooling and never changes to printing. thanks for all the help |

In respect of printing from Mac > PC > Printer, couldn't you bypass the PC? I suspect there may be network incompatibility. |
