Hi,

Just got a new TC for my MBP set up and looking at it, it looks like I have options as to setting it up..

I was looking for some suggestions or guide lines for setting things up.

Here is my set up:

New MBP 15"
WD 1tb FW drive
WD 500G usb drive
1TB time capsule.

I was thinking of using the 1 TB TC for photos/ movie/ & streaming to my ATV/ Boxee home theater set up.

The 1tb WD to archive and back up the 1tb TC.

WD 500G for time machine backup of my MBP.

Any suggestions would really be helpful

Thanks
Michael

Doesn't sound bad, except I'd recommend using the 500GB with SuperDuper! instead of TM and have a bootable backup.

Unless you have some reason that you need to be able to go back and retrieve previous versions of files.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.

Thanks bobtomay

Great sounds like you read my mind.

Thats actually how I've been using the 5oog usb drive, its my main method of backing up and it's bootable. I feel more comfortable with a super duper back up over TM any time.

Thank you.

Sort of different things - SuperDuper means u can carry on after computer mechanical failure - TM means you can track that previous version of file u have overwritten.

Thanks Collin,

Great to clear things like this up for those reading later.

In this set up I'm all for Super Duper as my MBP Back up for the reason you have posted.

TM has save me in the pass from some big mistakes, like accidently erasing my wifes family photos.
QUOTE Thanks
