I want to edit my scans with PhotoStudio (comes with the canocsan 400F) but save a version as a jpeg which opens in Preview without dragging all the PhotoStudio Software with it. Flickr won't upload PhotoStudio files. I have saved the scan to my desktop then imported it to IPhoto then export back to the desktop which removed the PhotoStudio software. That's a drag - especially since PS gives you the option to choose what type of file (jpeg or photstudio) you want to save it in. Please let me know if anyone found out how to save as a straight jpg.

p.s. Canon couldn't tell me how to do this with the software they preloaded. They sent me to ArcSoft - who offered to tell me how to do it - for $10.00!!!!!

I've been using Photo Studio for several years but on a PC. Still I am not sure what you're saying when you say "drag the PS software with it". When I choose to save a PS edited image as a ".jpg" it is saved that way and can be used just like any other .jpg format image. I don't use .jpeg however. Maybe that's your problem. When you say that you import to iPhoto and then back to the desktop to "remove the PS software" what do you mean? Possible that you have files of type .jpeg to open with Photo Studio by default. You should be able to change that but I'm not sure how on a Mac.

Do you choose 'save as' in the file menu and in the next location window pulldown choose Jpeg.
