Time Machine

Hello,
I used my Time Machine with a MacBookAir and it worked just fine. A week ago my MacBookAir was stolen. I still have an older MacBook and
I'm using it also with Time Machine. Now I'm trying to restore all my files (from the former MacBookAir) but can't locate them on the Time Machine. All I find on Time Machine are the files which are stored from my now using older MacBook.
Any help would be appriciated, thank you!

The older backup files from the MacBook Air Time Machine backup should be there on your external hard drive unless they were overwritten by the new backups. Are you sure you can't locate the older backups from the "Air"?

You won't be able to see the files via the TimeMachine UI because each backup image is locked to the machine from which it originated but you should be able to find the sparse bundle on the drive where your backups are located. It will be a .dmg file with the name of your old machine. You should be able to mount and browse this .dmg like any other .dmg file.

Individual backups on the .dmg will be marked with a timestamp/date.

I'm not the smartest guy, sorry I don't know where to locate the .dmg file with the name of my old machine. I really have no clue where to search.

So, you simply want to go to the drive where you were backing up your old data. You should see a file in there called backupofoldmachinename.dmg. Simply mount this like any other .dmg file and you can browse through your old backups.
