External Rock 400GB External HDD isn't recognizable after restarting computer?

Please help!!! A couple weeks ago I just purchased my external HDD, a Rock 400GB one. I just restarted my computer for the first time since then, and when it rebooted, it wouldn't recognize the disk! So I opened Disk Utility, and it says it's plugged in, but it recognizes it as a 2TB HDD and it won't let me open it. It won't mount. Any suggestions please??? Thank you!
