external flash drive problem

hey, im new on here. quick question, im having real trouble clearin stuff off a lexar usb drive. ive tried emptying the trash with the drive in, but its not possible because theres nothing in it. despite this, it still says that the drive is pretty much full.anyone got any suggestions?cheers

It seems some flash drives are preloaded with PC security software - try taking it to a mate with a PC and reformat the drive.
