iMac - USB Flash Drive Freezes Mac

This is my first post on here and I really need some help. I have an intel Mac running OS 10.5.6 Whenever I connect my USB flash drive a grey transparent screen scrolls doen and tells me I have to turn off my Mac. I am a reasonably new mac user (6 months) but feel I am pretty good with this sort of stuff but just cant seem to find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Wayne |

Im using a 2.4 GHz intel Core 2 Duo iMac with 1GB RAM. i haven't used anything else like that but i did connect a digital camera and it did the same thing. I have an iphone and a blue snowflake usb mic and they work fine. Any ideas? |
