Mac Specs: MacBook Pro , 2.4ghz, 200gb HD, 4GB RAM; eMac 1.25ghz, 512mb ram, 40gb HD

Macbook Pro and eMac external hard drive

Okay. I have a MacBook Pro and an eMac. I was wondering if i could use a single external hard drive to back up both of these machines. And also use it to store music, movies, etc. I haven't bought a drive yet, but i'll probably get a 500 or 750gb with firewire since both have firewire 400.
