For the pst 2 weeks I have been trying, trying, trying again to print a booklet from either Indesign or a PDF package on my G5 to an IR8500 printer. I have succeeded in doing so on another Canon, but need it to work for the 8500. I've looked into the 'print booklet' option in the file menu, and tried countless combinations of print settings...all to no avail.

Does anyone have advice? Is there something I am missing? All input is immensely appreciated!

I have used HP Deskjet F4280 for printing. I think that you should give it a try.

I'm having the same problem. I'm printing from Mac 0SX 10.6, or 10.5, it won't work with either OS. The app it Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro. Printer is Xerox 7760DX with finisher for printing booklets, folding and stapling.

There are conflicting options in the dialog for setting up the printing and if you have two or more that conflict the data will not go to the printer. I've tried hundreds of combinations. I've gotten it to work once before and saved the settings but now the same setting don't work. I've tried several fixes. I can print the same file from a PC but not the Mac. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

i too am frustrated with openoffice and ms office for mac on this point, and i don't hear much encouraging news from ipages users. MS word has the handy "bookfold" feature which can be used with table of contents etc.

i'm saving as pdf and using bookletcreator.com to make a booklet, which i hope will print ok, it seems the best option so far, but still doesn't touch MSWord's bookfold format which was really handy. can anyone improve on this?
