Comverting F/W CDRW to a FW Hard Drive

Hi there all. I have an external F/W CD RW and I want to convert this to an External F/W Hard drive. I have replaced the RW with a HD,set the HD to master but the HD won't mount.

Whats the problem. Anyone know

What type of hardware? Is it just a case around the drive with an IDE cable? What brand/model?
