Newbie Questions with printer

Hello!
I've been using mac for over a year, but i still have questions with my Mac...I use it mainly for surfing web, that's pretty much all.
Yesterday, i bought a printer HP Photosmart C4480, install and everything, when i print out the image that i wanted, it doesn't look as good as my 13 years old printer, i wondering, is there a way to set up better image?

The image that i printed out from Mac was very unclear, is there a way to make it better, and clear?

I do not have any program...

Can someone help me?

Did the HP Photosmart C4480 come with a driver for OS X? If it did, more than likely there are options you can set from the print dialog. Options such as resolution (DPI) and normal, draft, fine print should all be available.
