iMac2K6 is on a distinguished road

I just got a 1Gig Mushkin Memory for Christmas and installed it in my iMac. It originally only had 512MB in it. For some reason when both are put in, I get a the rapid flashing white light thats in front and it doesn't go any further then a black screen.

Both of the memory's work but only if they are inserted 1 at a time. For some reason it wont read the 1G and 512MB.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Your iMac is telling you either the module is not compatible or not installed properly. Take it out and see if the machine will then boot?

Trust it is not a 1GB module as your machine will need 2 x 512MB modules. Here is a link to the correct memory so compare it:-
