I just got a 1Gig Mushkin Memory for Christmas and installed it in my iMac. It originally only had 512MB in it. For some reason when both are put in, I get a the rapid flashing white light thats in front and it doesn't go any further then a black screen.
Both of the memory's work but only if they are inserted 1 at a time. For some reason it wont read the 1G and 512MB. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Happy Holidays Everyone! |

Your iMac is telling you either the module is not compatible or not installed properly. Take it out and see if the machine will then boot?
Trust it is not a 1GB module as your machine will need 2 x 512MB modules. Here is a link to the correct memory so compare it:- Memory Upgrades for your iMac G4 (Flat Panel) 700MHz - 800MHz at OtherWorldComputing.com |
