Mac Specs: Black Macbook C2D 2GHz 3GB RAM 250GB HD
There is no such thing as a 7200RPM 500GB hard drive for laptops. 500GB drives only come in 5400RPM versions as of right now, and the largest 7200RPM drive is 320GB.
And the WD 320GB 7200 is a blazer and very quiet. Have it in my MBP.
Got mine from Newegg.

Have been kicking that one around myself. I'm torn between that and the Seagate. Of course, I'm also thinking about buying the Apple Care (since there is that known issue with the NVIDIA 8600M chip), so not sure that I want to void my warranty. I just don't feel comfortable with this Fujitsu drive Apple put in from the factory.
Didn't upgrade mine until after the warranty expired. Just kept a Superduper bootable backup.
It really is pretty easy as long as you keep the screws marked somehow to get them back in the right place.

Yeah, I did it on my older MacBook Pro when it was out of warranty, I don't remember it being a difficult job. Just tough keeping track of all those screws, and releasing the case tabs without doing any damage.
