hardware to connect my laptop to my TV

I am new to Mac's: I have a MacBook with OS X, and a fairly new Sharp HDTV. Is there a device which allow me to show jpeg photos on the TV? Bear in mind I am a computer illiterate moron.

You'll need several adaptor cables.

From the MacBook output DVI: mini DVI to DVI cable

Apple Store (U.S.) - Apple Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter

You'll also need a DVI to HDMI cable to the TV HDMI input.
