I have my H/K Soundsticks II hooked up to my Airport Express, and every 5 minutes or so, they make this loud crackling noise. This only happens when they are plugged in to the Airport. I also have a mini-fridge plugged into the same circuit, so I thought that might be the problem, but when I plugged it into the other wall, the problem is still there. It is a dorm room, so maybe the whole room is the same circuit? When music is playing, however, there are no crackling noises that I have heard (maybe my music is just too loud idk). Any suggestions?

Thanks

You're probably picking up an electrostatic pulse somewhere - either off the AC line (which might be the same circuit for your room and others as well) or from RF. The Harmon Kardon Soundsticks you have are great sounding but they're not shielded very well. Lot's of other speaker systems are the same though.

Regards.
