hello I'm new to the form and i have was wondering if any one knows what might be the problem... I have a LaCie external DVD dive and a gray G4, with no internal DVD player, hence the external. the os is 10.3 and I want to upgrade it to 10.4, but it does not read the disk. I have confirmed that it reads the cds and dvd movies just fine but it does not even read that there is a disk in the drive. does any one have suggestions?

Sounds like a bad disc to me - where did the disc come from?

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
