Anyone else have this issue, I've got the Slimline Aluminum keyboard, with a wire, connected to my Intel Core Duo 1.66 Mini (Late 2006) Once into Leopard (fully updated mind you) it works flawlessly. Now here's the rub, on bootup I cannot use the Option key to get a nice boot menu so I can select any one of my three boot drives (the internal with Leopard, external with Tiger or the Bootcamp partition with XP on it) nor can I use the C key to boot from the optical drive nor the D key to boot it into the AHT off the Mini's first restore disc, I had to grab the previous gen board from my working eMac to do any of that.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem (I've done internet searches, no one seems to have found a solution) and if you've come up with a workaround other than grabbing an older keyboard, I'm all eyes to the posts !

I have that exact same mini and will go try my new Aluminum keyboard with it and get back to you.

I have one question. Did you update the firmware on the keyboard? Apple not long ago released a Firmware update for that keyboard.

Will get back to you ASAP.

Interesting, it will not work on the Intel Mini but does on the G4 mini holding option, C, whatever. Strange.

Here is another person with the same issues.

Thanks for that clarification. ALL!!! PLEASE READ ON.....I received a call (yes, they called me) from a product specialist at Apple today. This guy did some digging, and the "Aluminum Keyboard Boot Issue" is officially on Apple's radar, and their support developers are working on a "software update and/or article". They officially recognized the issue in February according to Carl, the product specialist.

So, all hope does not appear to be lost. Maybe a little more patience and us Mini users will have full use of our beloved aluminum keyboards.

Yes hope.....I love my Mini, I love the slick aluminum keyboard, if they can resolve this little issue, I might go get a second aluminum board for the eMac and run aluminums for both eMac and Mini.....the second eMac.....has to visit a shop before I"ll buy any new hardware for it though......dang capacitors bulging out !
