    GT200 - A huge boost in h.264 encoding
    I spotted this at anadtech

Finally a boost for the best codec out there (IMO). Just to give an indication of the speed difference nVidia's new GPU may offer with CUDA and the right application; a 2 minute HD file, converted to h.264 took

Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme : 25 seconds
    nVidia GTX 280 : 8 seconds

To put this into perspective, the Intel Core 2 Duo above is the fastest quad core it is possible to buy, and the software used on the GTX is an early beta, and sure to improve.

The GT200 is showing a lot of promise as a processing unit. In Folding@Home, it eats work units for lunch.
