Can you sync & stream from the same library/computer?

Just picked up my new Apple TV and am getting familiar with what it will do. It looks like I am unable to sync just some of my content to ATV and stream the rest from the same itunes account/powerbook.

Is there something I am missing, or is this the deal? I would like to have some of my media available w/o the laptop being open, but I would like the option to accesss -everything- from the ATV if need be.

Any suggestions???

Is anyone here able to sync and stream from the same computer?

I thought about buying the ATV for dumdums book, but I suspect its pre "Take 2"
