I have a wireless bluetooth dell keyboard and mouse.
The part number is 310-7990.
I'm running 10.4 on an awesome little macbook.

The mouse and keyboard both work with mac's built-in bluetooth flawlessly with no drivers/installation cds.

However I need to configure the mouse's center button as "Back" "Forward" buttons for safari-surfing and it has technically 7 programmable buttons on the mice that must get configured.

Dell's support site was atrotious b/c I couldn't find the "service tag" (an utterly preposterously annoying idea for self-help service tech support that does not work)

Soo...the question is "How do I configure said mouse". Thanks!

Give SteerMouse a try. It will allow you to assign buttons that the stock OSX drivers will not allow.

Hope that helps.

Dtravis, thanks man. I've been looking for, apparently, steermouse for a LONG TIME. Thanks for directing me to that program. I gotta key into macworld (4 mice) more frequently. How long has it been around? lifesaver with sensitivity and all programmable buttons. Thanks again.
