I use a D-Link DBT-120 external bluetooth USB module in order to get bluetooth on my family's G5 tower, and we've used it with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard for months, when suddenly it reported it was "not recognized" in the menu bar. I've tried restarting with it plugged in, restarting without it plugged in and THEN plugging it in, I deleted a coms.bluetooth.preference thingy whatever from the library, and nothing seems to work. The light still comes on on the module so I'm pretty sure it's something with the mac, and the mac reports that I don't have any bluetooth hardware at all...does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

I tried it on my other mac that already has built-in bluetooth and nothing happened, but I figured that may be because it had bluetooth already. I then tried it on a PC where the software kept asking me to plug it in when I already did, so I guess it's broken. It's a bit infuriating since this is the product Apple recommends for getting external bluetooth and it is only a few months old....all seems lost now but if anyone has any tips on "unbreaking" it it would be much appreciated!

Looks like it has gone to dongle heaven. If you purchased it new complain to the manufacturer as soon as possible with full details of when and where purchased.

Remember the problem is not Apple's.
