Last night I went and was deleting some files off my hard drive that were trash. well evidently i threw the wrong thing away. Now i get this screen when i start up that says...
/etc/master.passwd: No such file or directory /etc/master.passwd: No such file or directory sh-2.05a# it looks like a command prompt. |

Umm...My approach to this problem would be to do an archive and install...(replace all system files, while preserving applications, users, home folders, etc)
Boot from Panther(or whatever OS X disk you want), and under installition type, (you'll see options somewhere there), select archive and install |
