superdrive not recognized by OS 10 on emac

Guest Posts: n/a	10-23-2004, 08:23 PM A year ago I put in a pioneer A103 dvd writer into my emac. It has worked fine till last week. The drive works but the operating system will not recognize it. It shows that it is not installed in the extensions profile. I can not locate a firmware update that will work with the emac and this drive. It is plug and play and I unplugged it and plugged it back it. It still isn't recognized. Any suggestions, I am guessing that iDVD will still not work with an external burner?
