I bought a 02' 1st gen Emac 700mhz g4 with 128mb ram. I love the machine but the mini vga slot that I was told would support a tv out signal (to mirror your emac monitor on your tv for watching movies etc) does not. I purchased the apple video adapter for $20 and it doesnt work. Now I am told that the later emacs support this feature. Who is right? I will eventually sell this one and get another emac that has this feature but I want to make sure before I have an emac collection. Any help here guys?

The current eMac 1.25 ghz model and the 1 ghz model (that I have) will do it using the same video/tv adapter. The info I can find for earlier models is not clear but appears to indicate those models will only support a second monitor, not a TV. The difference seems to be that the 700 and early 800 mhz models used NVidia graphics where the revision 2 800 and all later models use ATI graphics.
