Hello,

I have a problem and I really appreciate if there arte any experts out ther who don;t mind taking a quick look here.

I have a ibook 2001 and I upgraded sometime ago to OSX from the OS 9.2. I have data on the old system that requires me to access the classic environment periodically. Recently my ibook powered down from a dead battery and when I restarted it restarted under the classic environment and now I can't get back to my OSX environment. Is there a way to manually choose your OS when you power up or did my OS just possibly crash and require reintallation? If I reinstall, will I risk loosing any of my old data on the X platform?

Thanks in advance!

I may be wrong on this, but I believe it applies to older Macs as well. You should be able to choose your startup partition by holding the Option key down just after you turn the computer on.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Apple Menu > Control Panels > Startup Disk

Choose the OS X install there.

Using the Option Key at startup is only temporary until you reboot again.
