Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue becuase I have scoured the internet and found people with the same issues, but no resolution. I am the systems admin for a design company which use 95% Apple desktops and 100% Windows Server back end. We have one file server which all users mount SMB shares from. The problem that some users are having is that for their SMB shares disappear with no error or warning. Here is some background information on the environment and the console and system log from one of the users.

The file server is Windows Server 2003 SP2 and DOES NOT have Apple File Sharing turned on, (I could turn this on but it would produce another learning curve for the users which I don't believe is needed at this time). I have checked the switch ports of both the server and the workstations that are having the problem and there are no errors or dropped packets. I even hard coded the NICs on the switches and workstations to be double sure there weren't any network issues and that didn't work either.

This is the relevant log info I found in the System log:

Feb 14 16:08:34 Users-Computer kernel[0]: smb_maperr32: no direct map for 32 bit server error (0xc0000054)

If anyone has any insight to this issue or any suggestions I am waiting and willing to try anything. Thanks!
