I have been having issues with renaming folders and files in Finder. Roughly once a day the keyboard doesn't respond but works in other programs that are running.

Today I was delighted to see a firmware upgrade appear on the updates thinking it will fix my problems.... but no.

Can anyone suggest what I can do.

Also my keyboard illumination is up the creak too, getting service to look at it sometime.

Mmmm Apple, finger out?

I am sorry to hear that Badley. I did read one poster say that he had to apply the update twice to get it to "take", but that doesn't seem appropriate to me. At any rate, I am not sure how you could get the update to appear again for installation.

If you keyboard is misbehaving, and your illumination feature isn't working, it may be time for a trip to the Apple store for repair...

It sucks it didn't fix it for you. I did the keyboard update last Friday and my keyboard is working #1.

That update had nothing to do with your issue. It was to fix a problem with the keyboard not responding right away after a laptop resumes from sleep.
