Ok, so when time machine came out, I bought a Western Digital 1TB drive to use for it. I formatted the drive, and have been using it for backups.
So yesterday, I plug in the hard drive to do a backup. Time machine pops up and says backup failed, and the hard drive cannot be used. If I would like to use the selected drive, a format is required. I have done nothing different, and now it wont use the hard drive until it's been formatted. I have about 200gb used on it, there is no way I can format it. Any ideas? I think I just got screwed over. Thanks in advance. |

This is certainly not a resolution, but I have had 5 WD HDD's fail over the last 15 years. I try to avoid them because of that. I hope you find resolution to your problem. Good luck!
