I have a three year old G4 powerbook upgraded from tiger to Leopard, which contains my entire life and need to know can I use disk warrior on leopard? Disk warrior saved my life a couple of times before on the older operating system. I have a 100GB Gtech firewire back up drive, but Time machine doesn't seem to like it. I intend to buy a new MAC laptop when I next go to the mainland, but want to safeguard my existing one until I travel

Thanks, having read that I guess I should wait and buy the leopard specific alsoft disk warrior.

You just need to upgrade which costs less, half the price. Check out Alsoft's webpage, the upgrade pricing is listed there. I wouldn't be without DiskWarrior either, personally. I recently upgraded from DiskWarrior 3 to DiskWarrior 4 myself.

DiskWarrior 4.1 works fine on Leopard. Just don't install the software on your hard drive. Start from the install CD by holding down 'C' during reboot, with the disc in the optical drive of course.
