I've just purchased my first mac pro, really enjoying it but I cannot get my radio to play through the mac. I've plugged it into the line in slot at the back (not digital in) and I can see in the sound properties that a signal is being received.

From a few internet searches I can see that audio midi setup might hold the answer, perhaps checking the thru box. However it is greyed out and I cannot check it.

What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks for any help

As strange as this sounds, try opening Garage Band and play a few notes through it. For some odd reason, doing that has solved many a users' audio issues.

Thanks for that, works fine. Had to start one of the instruments recording then change monitor to on, and hey presto, digital radio goodness.

Is there any way of getting the radio to play through without having Garageband (or any other program) running?

Thanks again for the help.
