I'm getting extremely angry with Mail.app (3.2). One minute it decides it will play me the "new mail" sound, and the next it decides "stuff it - let him GUESS if he has new mail - I refuse to notify him with a sound"

WHAT THE _____ IS GOING ON APPLE - THIS IS MAKING ME SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[PS] Oh and sometimes new mail doesn't even get marked with a blue dot - it appears as if it has been read.... WHAT IS GOING ON???.

[PPS] I'm using gmail and IMAP - and yes, it *IS* setup correctly - I've done it again and again about 25 times!!.

Even making a rule as a temporary fix didn't work:

Yes - Mail.app 3.2 is still as crap as it was before 10.5.2

This is a known issue with Mail since Leopard was released. Unfortunately Apple did not correct the bug in the latest update 10.5.2. I'm very disappointed about this also.

I am having the same issue, I have set my iphone to check more frequently and I get the audio alert that way....lame "fix" I know but I have to have something.

COME ON APPLE!!!! PAY ATTENTION!!!!! The little things are always the most irritating.

I guess that I shouldn't complain too much as I have had very few other problems......
