my friend told me the reason Mac OS X takes up 20+ GB is because of language packages. is this true? is there anyway i can delete all except English?

i asked this same question at the Apple store, and a Mac-genius told me he did it with a 3rd party software (couldn't give me the name do to some employee rules, but its easily found with a google search) but he said in Leopard, it only freed up about 1gig and basically it wasn't worth the hassle.

That was my thought to - not worth the hassle. If your hard drive is so low on space that 1GB matters, you need to add more hard drive capacity, not get rid of language support. Adding more hard drive capacity may involve adding an external hard drive, or swapping out the drive you have for a larger one, or in the case of the PowerMac or the Mac Pro, adding another hard drive.

My Macs: PowerMac G5 Quad, 2.5 GHz, 4 Core, Mac Pro, 3.2 GHz 8 Core, Power Macintosh 7500/100
My iStuff: 32 GB iPhone 4, 30 GB iPod Video, 16 GB iPod Touch
My OS': Mac OS X Tiger, Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Mac OS X Leopard, Mac OS 8.6, openSUSE 10.3, Win XP
