Several ways
Depends on whether you want to access just your files or control the machine remotely.
If you just want your files, OSX comes built in with SMB support, so you can simply switch windows file sharing on from the sharing pane in system preference's. You'll need to enable the accounts by clicking the accounts button after switching it on too. You may also need to make sure they're on the same workgroup (simply "workgroup" is the default on windows machines) via the directory access utility in applications > utilities. Enable SMB/CIFS and click configure - enter the name of the workgroup in the dialogue box

Then you're good to go. Simply search for your mac's name on the windows network.

If you want to control your machine remotely you'll want something like VNC. Install the server on your mac and the client on the winxp box.
I've used OSXvnc as the server on OSX and realvnc client on windows.
Follow the simple configuration and you can be controlling your mac remotely.

Last week I came across another option called logmein which now has a mac option. I haven't tried it yet, and the free version only lets you control one machine per user, but it looks good and allows you to control your mac through the internet from anywhere in the world provided it's switched on through a web interface

You can turn on screen sharing in the system preference pane (allow vnc guests). Then connect with tightvnc on the pc.

Check this site's FAQs forum. A few of us wrote quite detailed instructions.
