A friend of mine has a iBook G4 running panther - He asked if he could upgrade to Leopard, I told him his iBook meets the min req specs, but I'm not sure if there are any issues in upgrading?

Does anyone have experience doing this or know of any issues? Thanks.

Unless he's upgraded the RAM in the iBook, Leopard might feel quite a bit slower to him than Panther.
I'd go for 1GB at minimum if his iBook takes that much.

Oddly enough, that's exactly what he is doing. He purchased both Leopard and 1GB RAM from OWC.

I was reading MacHeadCase's Tiger upgrade to Leopard sticky and I was wondering if I would be correct to have him do a Erase & Install? He has a LaCie external hard drive to back up his files. Aside from files like records of personal bills, the majority of his files are photo's in iPhoto and music in iTunes.

Thanks again.

I would do an erase & install - you are much less likely to experience problems doing it that way
