PowerBook - no spotlight?

so i bought my gf a 12 inch powerbook this weekend and i noticed it had no spotlight when i was trying to remove the norton antivirus. how do i get it back?...and does anyone know how to remove the antivirus.

Spotlight would be OS, not Hardware....

i plan on installing leopard on it as soon as the new ram gets in will that take care of it?

What version of OS X is it running? if I recall correctly, Spotlight wasn't a part of Mac OS until 10.1? or 10.2?

I know it's not in OS 9

spotlight was introduced in 10.4, anything before that doesn't have spotlight.
