i was wondering if anyone is experiencing this weird phenomena ... sometimes the cursor will disappear on its own?? when over text especially ??? never noticed this before on tiger.. is this feature or do i have something to worry about??

It's normal. It disappears so you can read/see things then reappears when you move the pointer.

Unless it's a link, the cursor should change to the I-beam when you place it over text and this is absolutely nothing to worry about.
