Ok, i have a EXTERNAL hard drive that is not mounting, but i can see it in the Disk utiliy menu, i press repair but

Verify and Repair disk “Derek”
Checking HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Invalid node structure
Volume check failed.

Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit


1 HFS volume checked
1 volume could not be repaired because of an error

comes up,

so i try to VERIFIY my own hard drive
and the fellowing comes up

Verifying volume “Macintosh HD”
Checking HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Checking multi-linked files.
Checking Catalog hierarchy.

Checking Extended Attributes file.
Checking volume bitmap.
Checking volume information.
Volume Header needs minor repair
The volume Macintosh HD needs to be repaired.

Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit


1 HFS volume checked
Volume needs repair

SO I CANT FIX MY EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE UNTILL INTERAL IS OK

i cant find my original disk anywhere, so i cant boot from the CD

i really need to access the hard drive as i am making a calender for xmas for 14 people in my family and i have 1000's of photos on it i need SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!

boot from the install dvd and do a repair disk
