OS 10.5 - i can't find NAS drive

hello all
i have a western digital NAS attached to my network. before upgrading to leopard i could go to network and find it there. now i have to switch it off and on several times and reboot my imac few times before i can find it. its up and running because when its not shown in the network i still can ping it and there is a response. any help is appreciated. thanks in advance.
