I tried to boot up XP in Parallels tonight and it gave me about 3 different error messages then my screen quietly faded black and came up with "hold down power button to restart."

Once my MBP came back on, I got the message saying Mac OS X quite unexpectedly.

Do I need to worry about this? Do I need to delete parallels and never reinstall it?

I know there are probably tons of threads out there about this but I am in freaking out mode right now.

Try reinstalling Parallels. I had some trouble with it, but it never gave me kernel panics (although you're probably using a newer version than me).

Parallels is inferior to VMWare Fusion - try the demo of Fusion.

I was using Parallels 3.0. I have uninstalled Paralleles and will reinstall it over Christmas, since I don't have any windows cds with me at the moment.

I have had previous problems with Parallels where it would lock up my entire Mac and I would have to hold down the power button to restart my Mac. This is the 3rd time I have had to uninstall Parallels.

I don't need to take my MBP to get looked at do it?

I will check out VMWare Fusion. Thanks for the recommendation.

happened to me when i updated to 10.5.1...rollback to 10.5 and works fine...try updating ur paralells

I only use Parallels to test web sites and open Office 2007 files that people send me.
